I am sorry to announce that Andre Harrell has passed away, possibly from heart problems, age 59. Many may not know who Andre is of the top of their head, I am guilty of just semi-knowing his name but Harrell is the founder of Uptown Records, he first was a general manager later vice-president of Def Jam Records until he left to found Uptown in 1986. The label was home to the likes of Heavy D & The Boyz, the Lost Boyz, Jodeci, Mary J. Blige, The Notorious B.I.G., Puff Daddy and more. We send our condelonces to his loved ones as he makes a peaceful journey to the stage up top, may he rest in peace.
