Washington DC superstar Dre Wave$ released a brand new single accompanied with a music video on April 28th, 2023. “Squaaa” sees the rising MC speaking on his come-up as he spent less time focused on drama and more on his legacy while keeping his squad small. He talks about foes lurking in the shadows as he tries to avoid being put on a shirt with his second verse really focusing on his battle to rise above the setbacks a young black man faces to become something larger then life. The chorus really hits with a catchy sound as Wave$ explains how people outside his circle won’t know his inner turmoil and only see the narrative painted through actions like his music. Production slaps, gutty, chip and lim0 triple team this track like the NWO with a very mellow sound that blares on a sound system or good speaker. The visuals handled by Jaxon Buzzell and Brethren pop with a nice mixture of grimy scenery with some nice shots around the city as Dre moves with his “Squaaa.” Overall this is a certified slapper that has me hyped for his next single,”Nothin Betta” featuring Westside Boogie dropping May 17th; stay tuned for more from the GOD VZN camp!
