January 19th marks the birth of the late Malcolm McCormick aka Mac Miller who would celebrate turning 30. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mac would start his career off as EZ Mac with his first mixtape, “But My Mackin’ Ain’t Easy” dropping at only 15. His first taste of the spotlight came with his fourth mixtape, “K.I.D.S.” which dropped way back in 2010. I was in middle school when that dropped on DatPiff but it left an impact, from that mixtape on I thought highly of Mac; then when “Faces” dropped in 2014 oh man was it wraps. Miller would work with many of your favorite artist, he was some of those said artist favorite artist for his creativity along with his larger then life personality. Mac would release his final album alive in 2018, “Swimming” would instantly leave a mark as a amazing album but once Mac passed the charts were taken over. His follow up album, “Circles” would drop January 17th, 2020 as the conclusion to his idea that he had called “Swimming in Circles” but there was a rumored third album that would bring the two into completion. I love Mac Miller, he is one of the many artist I credit as inspirations along with one of the few I ever cried over when they passed, so happy birthday Malcolm; may we meet one day.
