Spider-Man: No Way Home is the third and final installment in Tom Holland’s version of the web-slinger, now we get the trailer we’ve anticipated with no disappointment. Now Marvel in my opinion has had a down year with their movie releases, I personally watched Black Widow and Shang-Chi with open minds and felt they are average to good movies. Shang-Chi had a lot more points in my book because I enjoyed the story, effects and fight scenes, Widow on the other hand was just okay, a set up for other properties from Marvel. I have yet to watch the Eternal’s due to my inability to watch a 3 hour movie but I have heard many mixed feelings. So Spider-Man: No Way Home as a casual fan of Marvel movies is the hero we need, this film has so much going for it that it can either boom or bust. A quote that comes to mind when I think of this movie and the fandom, “The one thing they love more than a hero is to see a hero fail, fall, die trying. In spite of everything you’ve done for them, eventually, they will hate you.” which is true because the hype is real, if we do not get a Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield cameo then this movie will be criticized until another spider bites a teenager.
Now I am gonna spend most of this paragraph just talking about some images that draw my interest, drop some theories I have and geek out as I relive 2002. In the screenshot on the left we see Electro who we knew would be in the film alongside two now confirmed foes, Sandman and The Lizard who besides a bit of sand in a teaser poster had no indication to be in the project. The Lizard draws a lot of interest since he is from Amazing Spiderman with Electro who looks amazing in this redesign. Green Goblin (Pictured right) is also seen in a alternative look which will lead into my theory. He is in a costume similar to James Franco’s Hob Goblin with even shuriken’s that resemble similar one’s Franco used in Spider-Man 3. Now a working theory of mine is that these deadly foes will form the Sinister 6, possibly breaking out Vulture and Scorpion but because of the villain star power I think not, I think that these villains will come to stay as realities and dimensions collide into one. I think we are going to also see a deadly choice, the life of Ned or the MJ, I think that is when we will see the OG Spider-Men return to rescue MJ or Ned. I also think something is strange with Strange, it appears that Peter may be trying to save this cast of characters from death as they all feel to a Spider-Man, it appears as well that Doc Ock might be on the good guys side this time around, remember the chip was destroyed in the final battle of Spider-Man 2 so he may use his brains to help return or rescue these fallen members of society. Watch the trailer below and be prepared as Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters December 17th, 2021.
