Jamison Akers published this amazing Candyman canvas in celebration of the “spiritual-sequel” which released in theaters August 27th, 2021. Now I have no clue if this is true but for purpose of not spoiling, this is a SPOILER ALERT! Jamison is depicting who I believe is the new Candyman played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II instead of the OG Candyman played by Tony Todd. Now for those who may not know the movie follows the story of the baby from the first Candyman that is kidnapped and nearly crushed in a hot pile of garbage. Akers does a wonderful job with his comic book dot style that also bleeds into a vintage baseball card look. This is a wonderful piece to celebrate a cult classic getting a modern-day sequel, show Jamison Akers love for work.
