It hurts to write these words, I never thought I would be especially before the new year had started, Daniel Dumile known to many as the masked villain of Hip-Hop, MF DOOM sadly transitioned from this physical life to a new beginning on October 31st, 2020, age 49. The underground legend from London began his 30 plus year career as Zev Love X of KMD, a group he founded with his brother DJ Subroc and Onyx the Birthstone Kid. Subroc would pass away while also loosing his deal with Elektra Records due to “Black Bastards” controversial cover, Zev went into the shadows only to emerge as MF DOOM. You know the rest, amazing music, more identities then a runaway prisoner, DOOM is your favorite rappers favorite rapper. I still can’t get over it, two whole months until his wife announced it on December 31st that he passed, DOOM went out as he lived, in the shadows, I will always cherish his music while also thank him for helping influence the new generation, salute to MF DOOM for all he did, may he rest in peace.
