It is with a heavy heart we have to announce that Malik B of The Roots has passed away, age 47. A founding member of Philadelphia rap group, The Roots Malik B was featured on the first 4 albums until departing from the group for personal reasons. He would release two solo albums while he maintained a steady body of work with features, often with The Roots. No details have been released on the cause of passing but we here at The Musical Hippie give our condolences to Malik B’s family, friends and fans, may he rest in peace.
