A Celebration of Life on April 5th (Musical Hippie History)

April 5th sees 3 birthdays and a tragic lose in the music world. “It’s better to burn out than to fade away” – Neil Young. 26 years ago (1994) Kurt Cobain was found unresponsive after a self-inflicted shotgun shot to the head, age 27. Cobain was the lead singer for Nirvana which needs no further explanation, his music has inspired millions including myself. Mystery still wanders around his death as some believer Courtney Love murdered him but that is all to opinion, his final acts before his life was cut short defiantly were strange, even his suicide note to his childhood imaginary friend Boddah, but maybe that was what brought Curt some peace, until one day may he rest in piece.

Happy 56th birthday (4/5/1964) to The Kid. One half of Kid ‘N Play, Christopher Reid was born in Bronx, NY many remember Kid for his hi-top fade, dance moves in House Play and music with Play.

Happy 45th birthday (4/5/1975) to Juicy J. A founding member of Three 6 Mafia, J has had a successful 30 plus years in the music business and continues to this day in putting in work.

Finally happy 47th birthday (4/5/1973) to Pharrell Williams. One half of The Neptunes, the lead vocalist behind N.E.R.D and founder of Billionaire Boys Club, Pharrell has been a influencer since 94 when he produced “Rump Shaker” by Wreckx N Effect. One of the living icons in hip-hop, Pharrell is arguably a GOAT in his own rights so we say a happy birthday to P.
