In Memory of Seagram (April 13th, 1970 – July 31st, 1996) (Musical Hippie History)

23 years ago (7/31/1996) Oakland born rapper Seagram was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting trying to protect fellow Oakland rapper Gangsta P, he was 26. Miller first had success in 1992 with his song “The Ville” from his studio debut album “The Dark Roads”, the album would reach #74 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. He would follow up with a successful sophomore album, “Reality Check” in 1994 that reached #31 on the charts, this would sadly be his final album released in his lifetime. “Soul On Ice” released on August 12, 1997 just a year after his unfortunate passing. Salute to Seagram for his music and impact in the Bay Area culture, he was sadly taken to soon in a violent time period for the Bay Area Rap game, may he Rest In Peace.
