Avengers Assemble: Square Enix reveals Marvel’s Avengers in new Trailer (News)

Insomniac Games did the superhero gaming culture right with their 2018 titled Marvel’s Spider-Man to major success, my personal Game of the Year in 2018. A couple years ago Marvel had released a trailer for a gaming project titled The Avengers Project. Well now we have finally seen that project birth from sacrifice, after Avengers: Endgame which wrapped up Phase 1 of Marvel’s cinematic universe fans were wanting more from the comic empire. The trailer starts on Avengers Day, the Avengers form in San Francisco to reveal a new headquarters. Suddenly the foggy city on the bay suffers a attack from the Golden Gate Bridge, our heros consist of Thor, Ironman, Captain America, The Hulk and Black Widow who take action and head to investigate. It’s discovered that Taskmaster has released pulse weaponry on the city, after a little action it seems the Avengers lose.

Now this is the part of the trailer that really takes me away is we never have had a time where the Avengers loose in modern day media other than Avengers: Infinity War, in the words of Tony Stark, “Everybody wants a happy ending, right? But it doesn’t always roll that way.” The city is in ruins, former fans now look at the heros as villains and the Avengers are in a hopeless state. The worse part is from what it looks like Captain America died in the attack, we see a statue with Mj√∂lnir chilling in front of it, than like the films Thor calls for his hammer and we get to the action again. But my reason to say Cap has fallen is we see all the Avengers fight but Cap, he isn’t seen after the attack of San Francisco.

I can not wait to see more from this game, it honestly can be something real good if handled properly. I think the idea to make original versions of the heros rather than use their cinematic counterparts is a good idea but I can’t lie like I didn’t want to hear Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans and Robert Downy Jr. have some back and forth. I just hope for a great story and yet another good superhero game. It will feature 4 player co-op with branching customization and skills so we may even get the opportunity to see our cinematic heros, various comic versions and even a fat Thor through customization.
