The Ghostbusters have seen many forms in media, from film to comics and all the licensed merchandise you can get. So back in my middle school days, Atari and Sony released Ghostbusters: The Video Game on Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in June of 2009. Now when I was a little kid, this game was the shit, Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd would assist in the writing for this game and all 4 of the original Ghostbusters reprises their roles, doing the voice acting with many other stars from the film.
So here’s a brief bit of the story from what I recall. You are a new recruit, the Ghostbusters were made official by the city of New York and are looking to expand. Egon has you trying on new equipment and you are introduced as “Rookie”, Egon tells the gang to not get to close so we never get a name other than Rookie. You go to the Sedgwick Hotel to the Museum in the second Ghostbusters, tons of character’s and references are made through collectibles and Easter eggs, the game had so much lore it was crazy to me years later looking back. I definitely remember this gaming being great and I am excited to purchase the game for one more run at getting the platinum on PS4. The biggest question from me is will the online still be available, Ghostbusters: The Video Game offered online modes that ranged from horde to hinting for specific Slimers. I’m real stoked for this game and can’t wait to revisit an old classic.
