Happy 57th birthday (5/21/1972) to the late King of New York, The Notorious B.I.G. Born Christopher Wallace in Brooklyn, New York, Wallace began pushing bars at age 10 before actually writing any. After serving some time in jail Wallace would make a mixtape titled “Microphone Murderer” under the alias Biggie Smalls, later dropping the name due to a artist already having that alias. That same tape would be heard by The Source in 1992 due to DJ Mister Cee’s promotion of it. Soon a young and fresh Sean Combs aka Puff Daddy caught word on the mixtape he would found Bad Boy Records and sign Wallace, now renamed The Notorious B.I.G. In 1994 B.I.G.’s life would completely change, after splitting with his longtime girlfriend and mother of first child, T’yanna in 1993, B.I.G. would marry R&B Singer Faith Evans on August 4. September 13th, Tuesday The Notorious B.I.G. along with Bad Boy Records release his studio debut album, “Ready to Die”. 1995 would be a dominate time for the Bad Boy Label, #1 hit charting songs, “Ready to Die” had reached a high amount of success and started rebirthing the East Coast radio wave control that it had back in the 80’s, by 1996 Wallace was collaborating with Michael Jackson to which they never met due to Jackson’s 1993 sexual child abuse allegations, B.I.G. would catch 2 cases and would start the deadly beef with fellow homie / artist, Tupac Shakur, who would sadly pass away in September on the 7th of the same year. Sadly The Notorious B.I.G. was killed in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles, California on March 9th, 1997, age 24. Salute to The Notorious B.I.G. for his impact in Rap and Hip-Hop, may he Rest In Peace.
